Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, Hawaii 2007

May 12, 2007 / by kimbond

Obviously it's been a VERY long time since I've posted here. I'm not much for blogging. But I wanted to share some of my Hawaiian Winter Vacation pictures with you. The trip was wonderful! I was there from early February through early April. The weather was sunny and 83 most days this year, which was quite a treat considering winter is the rainy season in Hawaii. I went snorkeling at Hanauma Bay with my friends, Dale and David, and got addicted, so I went back about 5 times. Although I only had a $9 underwater camera, some of the pictures came out decent. Here are a few...

Hanauma Bay

Humuhumunukunukuapua'a -- The Reef Trigger Fish. People still consider it the Hawaiian State Fish, although it is no longer official. Currently there is no official state fish.

Female Pearl Wrasse. These are endemic to Hawaii.

Bluelined Butterfly fish. (Not a great picture, but they are rather shy and easily frightened so I didn't have many photo opps) Endemic to Hawaii.

Spectacled Parrotfish (male). This species is endemic to Hawaii.

Parrotfish -- This day they let me swim with them, going from outcrop to outcrop feeding.

Ringtail Surgeonfish
